In April 2019 the Federal Government established the Disability Royal Commission.  The Royal Commission will investigate reports of VIOLENCE, ABUSE, NEGLECT and EXPLOITATION of people with a disability.

The issues which will be investigated by the Royal Commission include preventing and better protecting people with a disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

​

To do this the Royal Commission must receive submissions from people with a disability who have experienced and been subjected to violence, neglect, abuse and exploitation.  These events may have happened a long time ago.  That does not matter.  The Royal Commission will still investigate.

​

The violence, neglect, abuse or exploitation may have occurred in setting such as schools, workplaces, jails, group homes, boarding houses, family homes, hospitals or day programs.

 

The Royal Commission is giving YOU the opportunity to come forward and be HEARD if you have been subjected to such abuse.
